ABOUT THE ARTIST
For Sigrid, spending time out in nature has always been a spiritual experience. In more abstracted forms, her art attempts to convey the awe, exhilaration, peace or joy she feels while hiking, canoeing, kayaking or paddle boarding in various Canadian landscapes or tending to the flowers and plants in her garden. Recently retired, she has been able to return to the artistic world where experiments in Fluid Art techniques led her to create functional art and hand painted jewelry. Current inspirations for her acrylic paintings include impressionism, the Group of Seven, and any form of abstraction typified by bold colours, shapes and textures. Ultimately, it is her hope that her art will inspire the viewer to appreciate the beauty and fragility of the natural world. For more detailed information go to:
