ABOUT THE ARTIST
Gail Gifford is an artist living in London, Ontario. Realizing her passion for art in high school, Gail studied in the Advertising Art program at Fanshawe College, later starting a professional career at Gould Signs. There, Gail designed and illustrated signage for local businesses to customers' standards.
Taking several years off to raise a family, Gail took up quilting, sewing and cross stitch.
One of her original cross stitch designs was published in Better Homes and Gardens Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine.
Gail worked at Metro for many years as a Floral Manager, taking advantage of her skills in colour and design. Since retiring in 2013, Gail has found a renewed enjoyment in the arts, painting in watercolour, acrylic and oils.
Gail is a member of the Brush and Palette Club of London, St. Thomas Art Guild, Nine Fine Artists, London Community Artists, Creative Nomads and Lambeth Art Association. She has been recognized at many club shows with Judges Choice ribbons, receiving Best in Show at Portside Gallery Miniature show in 2019. In 2021 she received the IHO Rosemarie Croswell Award at Paint Ontario and a Juror's Choice Award at Visual Elements 63. Most recently, in 2023, the Thames Art Gallery -
Ontario Juried Exhibition presented her with a Juror's Choice award. She was also accepted to show in the A La Carte Juried Exhibition at Queen's Park Parliament building in 2024.
